I am the Manager of Web and Application Development. I am a manager of 2 development teams that write web applications in different languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript & PHP, XML-RPC, SOAP, SQL). Before that I was a Software Developer (C/C++, SQL) for a web site hosting company.

cz: How long have you been working in this field?

Management for 4 years and development for 4 years before that.

cz: When and how did you decide to choose this career?

In high school, I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. In college, I had no idea what I wanted to major in. I took classes in a lot of different subjects, I spoke to a lot of classmates in different majors, and I listened to the advice of my parents.

I recruit and place volunteers for individual positions or events for the Palm Beach County Health Center. Each of our volunteers brings unique abilities to each task. My job requires matching people skills and individual values with tasks that need to be accomplished.

This position involves listening to individuals - whether it is interfacing with potential volunteers, staff or clients. I also find ways to meet unbudgeted needs of the Health Center clients. I create and plan events from beginning to end including themes, colors, awards and recognition.

My job requires a great deal of multitasking in order to meet the emergent needs of the organization, community or individual clients. It is truly rewarding, very versatile, and full of change. It shifts focus rapidly requiring the ability to be flexible. If a crisis in the community occurs; I could spend the next day or weeks assisting to meet that effort.

cz: How long have you been working in this field?

I have held the position of Volunteer Coordinator for the past five years; but I have been a State of Florida employee for 30 years.

I decided to become a lawyer in my mid 20’s. I was working in another field and decided that I wanted to change.

I had previously been involved in the hotel and restaurant industry in various management capacities.

During Law school, I took some trial practice classes, and decided that I wanted to be a litigator and try cases in the courtroom.

I have a degree in marketing but I have also received additional certifications in both human resources and recruiting/sourcing in order to further my career.

The main purpose of my job is to assist people with their real estate needs. These can include purchasing, selling or leasing properties. There are many different tasks that must be done in order to accomplish these goals. Some of the basic tasks are: searching MLS (Multiple Listing Services) and tax rolls, setting up appointments, showing properties, developing Comparative Market Analyses and listing presentations, coordinating with Mortgage individuals, and marketing listings.

I initially got my license "just to have it". When my children were small, I utilized the license to assist friends but did not work at being a realtor as a career. As my children got older and I had more time, I began to work at it as a full time job.

I attended a real estate school in order to prepare for the state test. Once you pass the state test, you have a license

Briefly describe your job.

As a Podiatric Physician I treat patients of all ages for foot and ankle disorders. I first make a proper diagnosis of the patient's condition based on the facts they provide, the symptoms they describe, and by various tests I perform. Then I solve the problem and treat the patient. I may use injections, tapings and strappings on the foot and ankle, and I may need to perform some office surgeries for skin and nail conditions, as well as biopsies. If the surgery involves bone or deeper tumors, then I perform that at the hospital and/or outpatient surgical facility. The job is very diverse as there is such a large variety of foot and ankle conditions I may treat in any given day.

cz: How long have you been working in this field?

I have been working in my field since 1982. I completed a surgical residency in Foot Surgery in Jacksonville, Florida in 1982 and then began working in the field. I began my own private practice in Boca Raton, Florida in March of 1983.

cz: When and how did you decide to choose this career?

In went to college in New York and majored in biology and psychology, then I took the medical boards. I thought of a career in medicine and also in psychology, but chose medicine.

While in my senior year in college I was recruited to the specialty of Podiatric Medicine. At that time, in 1976, there were very FEW women in that field, and as I was interested in sports and did some running, I considered Podiatry as a profession. I went to the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia for four years after graduating college. I received my Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 1980.

Bob Howiecz: Briefly describe your job.

I am an Airplane Captain and Assistant Chief Pilot for Wing Aviation Charter Services, LLC , headquartered in Houston, Texas. In addition to flying I am a Check Airman for the company which means that I certify other captains to fly specific aircraft. I fly non-airline medium and large private jets for large companies and wealthy individuals who include business people, celebrities and sports stars. I fly all over the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and parts of the Pacific Ocean, including Hawaii. I hold certifications to fly a number of aircraft and am currently flying a Gulfstream G100 Astra (my picture was taken in the cockpit of the Astra). The Astra is a very fast jet (550 miles per hour) with a coast to coast range. It is a very slick aircraft and its fun to fly.

cz: How long have you been working in this field?

I have been flying professionally for about 30 years. However, I started flying when I was still in junior high school (at about the same age most young people are learning to drive cars.) In fact, I would ride about three miles to the local airport on my bicycle since, I was old enough to be licensed to fly airplanes, but I was still too young to hold a driver’s license. My mother loves telling that story.

I am a professional aviator (pilot). I fly a corporate jet for a large company in south Florida.

cz: How long have you been working in this field?

I have been in this field for over 25 years and I have been at my present job for the past 15 years. Previously I was a flight instructor and flew for both commercial and charter companies.

As a youngster I was always interested in technology and aviation.

I don’t have a formal college degree in music. I have taken 8 years of private lessons in piano and voice.
