Missing generation
Thomas Horner of Parish of Ilksley, West Roding of York, England (This Old Monmouth of Ours by William S. Hornor (1932)).
This name was brought into England about the year 866, being borne by one of those piratical Northmen, who having invaded Yorkshire, settled there, and founded the family under present consideration.
Thomas Horner of the parish of Ilksley, in the West Riding of York, is traditionally the source of the line, and the grandfather of John (who died in 1504).
This may have been the 'Jack' Horner about whom the nursery rhyme 'Little Jack Horner' was written.
